Frontispiece by George Cruikshank with original sketches for the image, tipped in, Illustrated by Leech, Phiz, Portch, and Tenniel, engraved by the Dalziel brothers, the Swans, and Evans. 8vo, publisher's pictorial plum cloth, some rubbing, but still very good; hinges cracked with backstrip separating from spine, preliminaries a bit shaken; cloth chemise and 1/4 calf gilt slipcase. - Notes: inscribed by pennell; ex-collection albert cohn with his bookplate and shelf label. Also included is a proof of the Cruikshank frontispiece on tissue and a page of preliminary sketches for the drawing by Cruikshank. Tipped in is a letter to Pennell from poet Frederick Locker-Lampson mentioning the book. Cohn 633.
