- Notes: A pitcher with no maker''s mark, but in the style produced in Bennington in the mid-nineteenth century. With a copy of a letter of authenticity stating that it was owned by General Custer''s widow, signed by Claribel Vivian (niece of General Custer), 12 February 1950, and witnessed by Margaret and Mirian Custer. Given by the Custer family to Lawrence A. Frost in 1950, and then sold by him to Elizabeth Atwood Lawrence in 1973.
