DON'T TALK / SPIES ARE LISTENING. Circa 1917

The Kaiser's head in military helmet appears on the body of a spider in the middle of his web. Although very popular during the Second World War, anti-espionage posters from the First World War are virtually unknown. Meehan cites this as the "Only known illustrated poster issued in the U.S. warning the public about spies" (Meehan Cat 17 # 55). Rawls p. 133, Theofiles 272.
