EDWARD PENFIELD HARPER'S OCTOBER. 1896.
18 1/4x13 3/4 inches.
Condition A-: horizontal fold; slight overpainting in image. Paper.
In the introduction to the 1896 book, Posters in Miniature, Penfield states, "a poster should tell its story at once --a design that needs study is not a poster, no matter how well it is executed. We are a bit tired of the very serious nowadays, and a little frivolity is refreshing." Kiehl 185, DFP I 361.
