FLOWN Gemini XII Rendezvous Checklist. The CDH (Constant Differential Height) Maneuver page from the checklist. One side of the page lists separate procedures for Command Pilot James Lovell and Pilot Buzz Aldrin to begin this step of the rendezvous with the Agena target vehicle. The opposite side has a grid to allow numeric entries for various rendezvous events. One page, approximately 8x10.5 inches, with a white velcro tab at the lower corner. NASA/MSC, nd

  • Notes: The CDH burn was used to circularize the Gemini spacecraft orbit with the Agena target vehicle. This was critical if back-up techniques such as visual sightings and chart use were required for computing an intercept maneuver. This turned out to be the case on Gemini XII due to an onboard computer failure. Aldrin did most of the computations himself.
Pilot Aldrin entered over twenty values during the flight including 11 entries in the "Lift-Off " column and 3 entries under "Ground Computer." He has inscribed and signed the top of the page, "Flown on Gemini XII, Buzz Aldrin" and signed "Buzz Aldrin" along the lower right corner of the CDH Maneuver procedure list page.
