Graphic Designers In Europe. 40.75 x 28.25 inches. Bijutsu Shuppan- Sha, Tokyo. Condition A-: abrasions and creases in image. Screen print. When Japan began opening itself up to Western influences, graphic design was one of the areas that was visibly affected. A new generation of graphic artists, including Kamekura, Tanaka, Yokoo, and Nagai, emerged to instant recognition. The Japanese were also among the first to try to chronicle new trends in graphic design publishingthree volumes about graphic designers in Europe as well as three volumes for American artists. The art director for this series was Gan Hosoya, but I doubt that he designed this poster, which can be found printed on different colored paper, in black and white. It is acleverly arranged montage of portraits of different artists that wererepresented in the book, such as A. Francois, Folon, Elfers, Lenica, and Gill. An interesting and important document.
