Jamaica: Slave Insurrection.

31 pages. Folio, self-wrappers, stitched. House of Commons document. London, 1832

  • Notes: first and only printing. A fascinating account of the arrest and trial of a group of ministers for inciting slaves to rebel. Some 500 slaves were also arrested and jailed, with some being executed. In the present document testimony is given by the slaves themselves. This was the last slave uprising in Jamaica. The Crown emancipated all slaves in 1834.
