Album entitled "Vue de Java, Photographies" with 81 original photographs, comprising 45 picturesque views of Batavia, Borobudur, the countryside, Dutch and Japanese officials, temples and urban scenes, and 36 carte-de-visite-size portraits of textile merchants, opium smokers, dancers, concubines, and others. Albumen prints, 9 1/4x8 1/4 inches (23.5x21 cm.) and smaller, a few captioned on mount recto. Oblong gilt-lettered morocco, rubbed and worn; contents clean but disbound. 1860s
