KENNETH DENTON SHOESMITH (1890-1939) R.M.S.P. TO SOUTH AMERICA.
36 5/8x24 1/8 inches.
Condition B+: repaired tears and creases in margins and image; restored loss in bottom margin; restoration along vertical and horizontal folds.
In 1840 Samuel Cunard founded the British and North American Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, which was also known by its founder's name--the Cunard Line. In 1910 the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company bought out the Pacific Steam Navigation Company. This snapshot of life on a boat does well to highlight both the hustle and bustle and the relaxed carefree attitude that exist simultaneously on a liner of such size.
All items are offered for sale subject to Swann Galleries' standard terms and conditions of sale, which are published in our catalogues and are posted below.
