  • Notes: "Journal of the Third Session of the Senate of the United States of America." [1st Congress]. 203 pages. Disbound; moderate dampstaining, minor wear, moderate worming in lower margin; signed on title by important early physician John Redman Coxe (1773-1864), who at this time was a University of Pennsylvania student studying under Benjamin Rush. Includes discussion of the Bank of the United States and Treasury Department, and admission of Vermont and Kentucky as states. 1791.

    "Journal of the Senate . . . Being the First Session of the Second Congress." 224 [228] pages. Contemporary calf, worn and stained; moderate dampstaining. Includes the acts establishing the United States Post Office (pages 74-126, passim) and the Mint (pages 17-171, passim). 1791 [1792].

    "Journal of the Senate . . . Being the First Session of the Third Congress," bound with "Journal of the Senate . . . Being the Second Session of the Third Congress." 205; 114, [12] pages. Contemporary calf, worn, front board detached; moderate dampstaining. Includes a 19 November 1794 speech by President Washington on the Whiskey Rebellion (pages II:6-12). 1793, 1794 [1795].
