- Provenance: Condition B+: expertly repaired tears in margins, some affecting image.
- Notes: A regular at the Salon des Humoristes Roubille was an illustrator who worked for most of the turn-of-the-century Parisian magazines. His work was characterized by flat colors, sharp outlines and a great sense of caricature. Unfortunately, he only designed a few posters, as his style lends itself marvelously to their large format. This ironic advertisement for a manufacturer of fake diamonds shows a performer on a music hall stage, dressed in an over-the-top dandy-ish manner and adorned with shiny jewels. Weill p. 46 no. 66, Maitres 1900 p. 70, DFP II 764.
