Strip of red paper on inner pastdown reading: "Note. This is a sample of paper cover at 6 cents each,' strongly indicating that this was a salesman's copy for subscription. jackson, Tennessee: M. V. Lynck Publishing House, 1895 E600-900 First Edition. History told from the point of -view of a doctor, probably privately printed on a hand-press. Lynck discusses the Spanish-American War, and the role of African-Americans in military service leading up to the war.
