MARILYN MONROE
Typed telegram to Marilyn Monroe from Morris Brown, a bail bond broker, informing her that he has posted bail on her behalf. February 7, 1955.
1 page, 8 1/2x8 1/2 inches. With a carbon copy (and the carbon) and with a small newspaper clipping taped to the above with the headline "Marilyn Monroe Now A Fugitive!"

Marilyn had been sent a summons in November 1954 for driving without a license. Her failure to appear in court prompted municipal Judge Charles Griffin to issue a warrant for her arrest. Brown posted the $100 bail so that she would not be arrested and urged her to settle the matter by appearing at a February 15, 1955 hearing.
