It was the final battle of the First Barbary or Tripolitan War, is considered the first land battle involving United States forces on foreign soil, and has been immortalized in the Marines'' Hymn. Includes 3 reports on Eaton''s claims, and 5 on the claims of Hamet Karamanli, Pasha of Tripoli.
