London: Grant Richards, 1920 E1000-1500 McKay's third book, and the first to be published outside of his native Jamaica. The edition probably did not exceed 750 copies; a simultaneous U. S. edition to be issued by Knopf is announced on the acknowledgement page, however no such edition ever appeared in America. No edition of any of McKay's books appeared in the U. S. until 1922, when "Harlem Shadows' was published.
