  • Condition: This striking group of NASA Apollo photographs are in overall very good to excellent condition. The imagery is classic and compelling, featuring the iconic moments associated with these early flight missions to the Moon.

The prints evidence very little handling, and any very slight and unobtrusive condition imperfections are only apparent when viewing the work very closely and carefully in strong, raking light. The largest mounted print is lifting from its mount at the lower left corner (the print is dry mounted) and it was originally enclosed in shrinkwrap, which seems to have impacted the quality of the surface somewhat. This is also mostly visible in raking light.

A few of the prints are slightly faded or shifted, typical to work from this period (one of the Earthrise prints is noticeably pink). But, these are in the minority. Overall the color remains strong and contrasty and true.

One of the early square prints with the red NASA number in the margin has an exceedingly soft and faint ripple within the image area, but this is minor.

Please see our additional images for the full lot and additional details. Overall this is an exciting, dynamic group of imagery.
