Late 1840s, early-mid 1850s E1400-1800 Charles Evans was a daguerreotypist at the Sun Beam Gallery at 106 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, in 1851 he remained active in that city but relocated his business, between 1854-1856, to 380 Market Street. he is mentioned in both the "Photographic Art Journal" and "The Photographic and Fine Art Journal" for the year 1856
