A rare and exquisite group of public awareness notices, warning the public about staying out of the way of on-coming trains. Likely produced as a result of the introduction of electric trains, which accelerated a lot faster, these posters depict a variety of images of people ignoring warnings, and trying to cross train tracks, on foot or in cars, ahead of speeding engines. Baker was an illustrator who is best remembered for his over 300 cover designs for Time magazine. He also designed several posters during World War I.
