Drost was a versatile artist. In a poster for a Student Congress (see Swann Modernist Poster Auction #2113, lot 65) he created a tour-de-force of new typography and composition. Here, depicting a mallet, chisel and palette he calls upon an artist's tools to illicit a visual plea for patrons to "Support Art / Buy Art."
