Condition B / B-: restoration, overpainting and repaired tears along sharp vertical and horizontal folds; restoration and overpainting in margins and corners; creases in image.
Under the artistic direction of Jack Beddington, Shell produced hundreds of posters. As of yet, no one has definitely counted and recorded the total number that was designed. The untold numbers of artists, both known and unknown, who were employed to work on the projects had one thing in common, that they had been chosen by Beddington for the commission, a symbol of his belief in and the quality of their talents. This poster is a previously unrecorded image, which is unusual as it is an excellent piece of graphic design, showing the same view from an airplane by day and night.
