Zwart designed the exceptional photomontage covers for this series of books dedicated to international trends in the art of filmmaking. Each of the individual titles (representing the films of different countries, or different genres of films) inspired Zwart to create a powerful blue and red graphic assemblage using multiple exposures, superimposed images, geometrical forms and new typography. Each little montage is Zwart at his best. The series was originally intended to contain twelve titles (12 are listed on the title page of each of these copies), but only the first 10 were ever printed. While individual titles from the series are available, it is extremely rare to find all ten together, and in such good condition. Page Design 404-6, Dutch Graphic Design np.
