Both parties claimed Louisiana, South Carolina, and Florida; both charged fraud in vote counting. Republicans claimed many col-ored voters of those States were deprived of their vote by "intimidation or actual force," but the real culprit was the Electoral College. In conference, Hayes was declared the winner by one electoral vote, though it is now conceded Tilden carried Louisiana. The poster lists a litany of so-called Republican crimes.
