Etching and drypoint, circa 1642. 62x51 mm; 2 1/2x2 inches, small margins. Ex-collection Carl Julius Kollmann (see Lugt 1585); and Ernst von Feder (Lugt 923, verso). A delicately-printed impression of this extremely scarce print.

The sitter is purportedly the artist's wife, Saskia, who died at the age of 30 in 1642.

We have found only 5 other impressions at auction in the past 20 years; the last impression sold at Swann, May 5, 2005, sale 2042, lot 65. Bartsch 359; Biörklund 42-4; Hollstein (White and Boon) 359.
