  • Notes: Describes travels across thinly-settled portions of New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and the Louisiana Territory, ending in New Orleans. "Best description of this region at the period"--Howes S202. Sabin 78003.
  • Condition: Map 1 (US and Canada): Moderate foxing, short tear off gutter, short separation on one fold, heavy diagonal extra crease in bottom left corner, several faint dampstains.

    Map 2 (Hudson & Mohawk Rivers): Moderate foxing, wear on bottom edge, substantial 2-inch vertical tear along center fold with slight loss, very short tear off gutter.

    Map 3 (Marietta): Moderate foxing, very short tear off gutter, wear on bottom edge, extraneous folds on outside edge.

    Map 4 (Ohio River): Moderate foxing, major tear off gutter--the bulk of map is nearly detached from first panel; substantial vertical tear along center fold; several extraneous creases; worn on outer edge.

    Map 5 (Mississippi River): Moderate foxing, major tear off gutter, almost meeting a substantial vertical tear up from center fold.
