Slave's Wooden bowl, made from hardwood, 7 1/2 inches diameter at rim and

approximately 3 inches deep; with incised double-ring borders; chip in rim (1 1/4 x 1/4 inch). Mississippi, late 18th-early 19th century This bowl, carved with repeated concentric incised rings, bears striking similarities to bowls from the coast of Guinea. The bowl was acquired from a private estate in Mississippi.
