Cincinnati, 1855 first edition. An anti-slavery novel about the life of Zoe Carlin, "a young colored girl of the little Danish island of Santa Cruz." Zoe makes it to the Plains of the West and argues for the virtue of the Indian as well as the Jew. This was Mrs. Livermore's only venture into fiction. Wright II, 1562.
