Together, 4 volumes. 8vo, originally bound together but now disbound with some remnants of sewing holding them together; scattered foxing. New Haven, 1820 first editions of all four titles; three of them signed by the publisher on the title-page. James Hillhouse (1754-1833) had a long and distinguished career in politics. A federalist, he served as a captain in the Revolution and later was elected to Congress where he served from 1791 to 1809. All 4 of these pamphlets are firmly anti-slavery.
