  • Notes: The "Dewey Commission," or the Preliminary Commission of Inquiry into the Charges Made against Leon Trotsky in the Moscow Trials, was led by philosopher and education reformer John Dewey in 1937, and sought to establish the truth of the charges made against Trotsky during the trials organized by Joseph Stalin and held in Moscow in 1936.
