Notes: The books in this lot descend from the family line of Caroline Severence, noted suffragist and social reformer who was a close friend of the Alcotts, notably A. Bronson, Louisa's father.
All but A Garland for Girls and the 1890 edition of Life, Letters, and Journals are first editions, first printings. All but one bear an inscription from a member of the Severence family or Burrage (Caroline's son-in-law's) family.
