A rare flyer from the colored citizens of New
York, signed in type by James McCune Smith,
one of the leaders of the community. The
authorsof
the flyer are proposing an
Amendment to the New York Constitution to
allow men of color to vote in the November
1860 election. The writers point out that
according to the Constitution of 1777, all male
citizens of the state had the right to vote. Rare,
OCLC locates only four copies.
