(MILITARY—WORLDWAR II.)
TUSKEGEE AIRMEN.
They Were
Our Finest.
Bronze medallion, 3.75 cm,
three faces on obverse, and three planes,
“99, 332, 422, Tuskegee Airmen Inc” on
the reverse; patina consistent with age;
some discoloration, possibly from some-
thing acidic.
[500/750]
A very interesting medal, the first we have ever
seen, depicting a pilot, a mechanic and a
woman, possibly nurse on the face of the medal-
lion, and three airplanes, each with the number
of the squadron on its side. An impressive piece
of medallic art. The Tuskegee Airmen Inc. is a
non-profic organization formed for veterans of
the several squadrons, their mechanics et al.
