Signed, in the third person within the text, with an Autograph Endorsement Signed. The

manuscript, 18-line balance sheet listing Sherman’s expenses between 1776 and 1779 as a

delegate to the Continental Congress, including, in November of 1776, “7 days Service &

Horse going to Camp to arrange the officers in the Connecticut Line . . . .”The heading of

the page, in holograph: “State of Connecticut to R. Sherman / Dr.” The endorsement,

“Rec’d Twenty Nine pounds Seven Shillings and eight pence Lawful money the Contents.

May 17, 1780,” written on the same sheet below a pay order to CT Treasurer John

Lawrence. 2 pages, square 8vo, the manuscript written on the terminal page and the

endorsement on the first page of a single folded sheet; evenly toned, docketing on verso of

endorsement page, folds, cancellation signature by Oliver Wolcott Jr. written vertically

through pay order (not affecting endorsement). (MRS)
