12 of the Elements. A Moravian-born Jesuit who
taught in Prague, Olomouc, Madrid, and Cádiz,
Kresa (1648-1715) was known for his work in
analytic trigonometry. On pages 251 and 264 of
this edition are 2 problems devised and solved by
the mathematician Antonio Hugo de Omerique,
the first appearance of his work in print. Duarte
