52 card deck of playing cards with photographic images of African-Americans on

the faces; in the original blue cardstock box; very light wear to the box. An exceptional

example with the directions card present.

A particularly fine example of this game, popular at the turn of the 20th century. The images, mostly

of African-American children, are quite sympathetic and avoid for the most part the terribly stereo-

typed exaggerations that the majority of “Black Memorabilia” of this era produced.

Hand-made wooden “jumping jack.”

13 inches high and 2 inches wide at the

shoulders; soft fabric arms, hair seems to

be made from a small piece of Persian

lamb; small black bead eyes, early loss of

the front tip of one of the “boots.”

Mounted on a special metal stand.
