in full dress.
Comprising 2 quarter-plate daguerreotypes, the
first of a mustachioed figure posing with a sabre,
the second a French Maritime war hero, proudly
sporting a sabre and 2 medals (in a passe-partout
frame);and 3 ambrotypes,including a quarter-plate
ambrotype of a British (?) naval officer, a second
depicting a sailor before an elaborate backdrop (in
a passe-partout frame), and the third a young
French or British figure, his kepi and uniform
beautifully hand-tinted in bright reds; most are
hand-tinted; in half and full leather cases. 1850s
