Williamsburg. Having under my orders our own American troops and the corps of M[arqu]is de

St. Simon of 3000 men, Lord Cornwallis came out to reconnoiter us and declined the attack.

3ly A short narration of the campaign inVirginia followed by a journal of the siege ofYork.

I expected to send you some other plans but I fear they are at Chavaniac . . . .”
