Give. 1967 27.125 x 21.125 inches. Condition B+: abrasions, discolorations, and minor overpainting in image. During the Vietnam War, Ungerer did numerous sketches and posters opposing American aggression in Asia, such as "Kiss for Peace," "Eat," and "The Americans are Coming." "Give," which was published in 1967, was one of the most famous and again, most brilliantly simple of Ungerer's human-rights posters. Here, a military aircraft is in the process of delivering a mixed cargo of gifts and bombs, an eloquent illustrationof the confusing, often contradictory nature of Americas involvement in Vietnam. ref The Poster Art of Tomi Ungerer by Jack Rennert, Damien House, New York, 1971 - P.24, no.24
