Strongly influenced by the Art- Nouveau movement of the 1890s, Peter Max was one of the originators of Psychedelic art in the 1960s, and, as proven by his colorful, decorative posters, certainly one of the movement's most prolific artists. From 1966 on, he published a series of images that played with fin-de-siecle artistic techniques and made reference to a varietyof events and ideas that stemmed from current music, cinema, and cultural happenings in the era.
