Colored Drama, and “The Versatile Lawrence
Criner,” one of the studio’s great male leads.
Norman also produced the famous all black
film “The Bull-Dogger” that starred the gen-
uine cowboy, Bill Pickett.

Kathryn Boyd. Norman was the longest lasting
and leading producer, of all black cast films at a
time when over 100 other studios were compet-
