Condition Report:
The albumen print of elevated trains, by Johnson, in the Bowery, is in good condition. Both prints have no borders and are affixed to period mounts.
The tones of the photograph are strong and consistent but the surface reflects issues, probably associated with mounting the print: multiple long diagonal creases at the far right, and short rubs, which are mostly noticeable in raking light. Print verso is scene of a couple at Bethesda Fountain, in Central Park.
The second print of the Bowery, this one with a trolley in the foreground and the sign Harlem, has great tonality and short creases and wipes, which are mostly visible in raking light. There's a debossed stamp in the lower right corner with Loeffler's credit.
A pair of marvelous scenes of New York's Bowery.
