Contemporary Art

The Contemporary Art department offers works by modern icons as well as by international and working artists. Our auctions feature prints, drawings, sculptures and paintings from all the major movements of the last 75 years, including Pop Art, Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism and Conceptualism. Top sales include a set of four color screenprints by Jean-Michel Basquiat, for $200,000 in November 2017; Ellsworth Kelly's Milkweed for $125,000 in November 2016; Roy Lichtenstein's Sweet Dreams, Baby! for $125,000 in May 2016; and Maqbool Fida Husain’s Untitled (Horse) for $144,000 in May 2013. We have also set records for prints by David Hockney, Cy Twombly and David Wojnarowicz, among others. 

We accept quality consignments of works by artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Jasper Johns, Joan Mitchell, Wayne Thiebaud and Andy Warhol, as well as from emerging and mid-career artists.
